🥹They’re seeing you too many times
Frequency caps create a comforting illusion.
Open a DSP dashboard, and everything looks under control. Average frequency sits at three. The campaign appears disciplined. The problem is that number often reflects what happened inside one platform, not what actually happened inside one household.
A viewer who watches Hulu, Peacock and a FAST channel in the same week can receive the same campaign across all three. Each platform reports a perfectly reasonable frequency because none of them knows what the others already delivered.
The cap wasn’t exceeded.
It was never measuring the whole buy.
First, find out what your frequency cap is actually counting
Before trusting any reported frequency, ask one question:
If every platform is capping independently, the reported frequency is only part of the story. A household may have seen far more impressions than any individual dashboard can report.
One frequency cap shouldn’t apply to every audience
The right frequency depends on who you’re talking to.
Someone who’s already visited your website or searched for your brand processes repeated messaging very differently from someone seeing it for the first time. Treating both groups the same usually means overexposing one while underserving the other.
Rotate the message, not just the creative
The third impression shouldn’t repeat what the first one already accomplished.
Instead, build a sequence.
Exposure 1: Capture attention.
Exposure 2: Add proof or demonstration.
Exposure 3: Reinforce credibility.
Exposure 4: Present the offer.
The objective isn’t constant novelty.
It’s making every additional impression answer the next question the viewer naturally has.
See the whole picture
Reconciling household exposure across multiple streaming platforms is possible, but doing it manually usually means requesting logs from every media partner and stitching them together yourself.
That’s why Tatari brings linear TV, streaming and direct publisher inventory into a single platform.
Instead of treating frequency as three or four disconnected numbers, it measures household exposure across the campaign, making it much easier to understand when repetition is reinforcing the message and when it’s simply becoming waste. You can book a free demo and build demand with TV before Q4 gets crowded
A frequency cap only works if it measures total exposure.
Otherwise, it’s not limiting repetition. It’s only limiting what one platform can see.
📱 Social Platforms Want Better Content, Not More Content
Reddit, Instagram, and Snapchat are all making changes that reward engaging, original content while making low-effort posts less valuable.
The Breakdown:
Reddit Goes Vertical - Reddit is testing a TikTok-style experience where viral posts become narrated short-form videos, showing that even text-first platforms are moving toward watchable content.
Most People Still Don’t Create - Instagram has roughly twice as many viewers as creators, leaving plenty of opportunity for brands and creators who consistently publish original content.
UGC Still Beats AI - Only 2% of marketers say AI-generated content is extremely important, compared with 36% who prioritize user-generated content in their social strategy.
Snap Targets AI Slop - Snapchat is tightening Spotlight recommendations by reducing the reach of low-quality AI-generated content, joining a broader industry push toward rewarding authentic content, while LinkedIn has signaled a similar crackdown.
Social platforms are shifting from maximizing content volume to maximizing content quality. As algorithms evolve, originality and consistent publishing are becoming stronger competitive advantages.
🏆 Ad of the Day
What Works:
Native Feed Disruption - The Instagram-style interface creates a strong pattern interrupt, making the ad feel platform-native while the oversized product pack immediately anchors attention and strengthens thumb-stop potential.
Benefit Copy Supports - The caption communicates energy, metabolism, and workout support in familiar social copy, reinforcing message-market fit without competing too heavily with the visual product story.
Motion Drives Attention - The flowing liquid connects the pack to consumption, guiding the eye through the layout while adding energy, product context and stronger attention retention across the creative.
Let the product or ingredient physically cross through a familiar social interface. It creates visual surprise, preserves product communication, and makes static creative feel more dynamic.
